Latest Reading
Forced Into Glory, Abraham Lincoln's White Dream by Lerone Bennett, Jr., Johnson Publishing Company, 2000. This is an interesting book for about the first hundred pages. In these pages he proves his point. In that regard, this could have been an article. But, instead Bennett drones on and on. We understand. Abraham Lincoln was not what his admirers make him out to be. He was, in fact, a run of the mill racist, who freed few if any slaves, made war on white and black civilians, and, basically, would not be remembered as a great man if he hadn't been murdered. This book is not near as good and informative as his Before the Mayflower. But, it is worth reading to get a balanced view of history.
