"For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment." James 2:13.
Mercy is linked with compassion (Deuteronomy 13:17), helping one in distress (Psalm 4:1), healing and giving strength (Psalm 6:2), salvation (Psalm 13:5), not holding youthful sin against one (Psalm 25:7), helping the desolate and afflicted (Psalm 25:16), helping (Psalm 35:10), being generous (Psalm 37:21), not holding sin now against one (Psalm 51:1), and many more things are identified with mercy if you just search out the word. It never seems to be something someone deserves but is based on the character of the one who is showing mercy.
When was the last time we showed mercy to someone who didn't deserve it as God has done to us?
