Latest Reading

Human Smoke, The Beginnings of World War Two, The End of Civilization, by Nicholson Baker, Simon & Schuster, 2008. This is a unique look at the beginnings of the war. It is great way to read history. In fact, people who don't read history books would like the way this book is written in short episodes, gleaned from diaries and newspaper accounts. I recommend this book for everyone. Of course, if you adore Churchill and FDR you might find it upsetting.
