Revelation 7:1-17, part 3, spiritual descendants of Abraham

Let’s examine some things. The people who say that this ten thousand times ten thousand plus thousand of thousands which I am linking to this vast multitude mentioned here by cross-referencing represent all of the saved throughout the last 2,000 years are wrong. Rebekah is prophesied to be the mother of thousands of millions.

Genesis 24:60   And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

There are only 15 million self-identifying Jews around the world today. I say self-identifying because people, myself included, may have at least one Jewish ancestor but don’t consider themselves Jewish. Rebekah’s prophecy concerns billions. This can only be a reference then to spiritual descendants through Abraham and Isaac by way of Rebekah. Considering the number of professing Christians throughout history the number in the first few chapters of Revelation refer to a much smaller number, an approximation yes, but a smaller approximation than thousands of millions.

While I think the number here and in chapter 5, who came out of Great Tribulation, represent the raptured saints this cannot be the total of all of those saved throughout the last 2,000 years as that number, as per the prophecy if I am right in Genesis 24, is billions. There are over 2 billion confessing Christians in the world right now regardless of your belief that one isn’t saved if they don’t belong to your church. (Just joking).

Whatever the case, they will serve God who will live among them. They will never hunger or thirst or suffer the heat of the sun. Christ, the Lamb of God, will lead them and all their tears will be wiped away.

Matthew 5:4  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Isaiah 25:8  He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Most Christians in America spend too much time patting themselves on the back in their frenzy of self-congratulations for their smarts in picking the right team than in mourning for sin. When was the last time you wept for man’s sinful state in general, the death all around you that came in judgment from Adam’s fall, or for the lost souls of loved ones, friends, and neighbors who will never be comforted.

I am linking the angels, the ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands, with this multitude in the sixth seal as those translated before the Great Tribulation mentioned as angels as also connected here in verse 11 .

My contention is that the angels in 5:11 and the multitude/angels in 7:9, 11 are the raptured and resurrected saints and martyred saints. Some people make a point about them washing their robes and making them white as being works however that is really nit-picking and again applying modernism to the Bible. You make your robes white representing righteousness by trusting in Christ.

Now, let’s move on to the seventh seal and then follow the trumpets and vials as consecutive events, studying them more completely, as I believe they are not happening at the same time as the first six seals;
