Mark 10:32-34 comments: he shall rise again.

32 ¶ And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him, 33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: 34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

Psalm 22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Jesus reveals here that He knows where it will happen, who will do it, and what will happen three days later.

Read the context from which the following verses are drawn.

Genesis 22:4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. (Abraham goes to sacrifice the son God promised him at Gods’ command just as God will sacrifice His own Son, who is Himself in the flesh.)

Genesis 40:20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. (See Jesus’ and Judas’ fates here; this Pharaoh, a type of God the Father restores the chief butler to his position but hangs the chief baker.)

Genesis 42:18 And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God: (One man’s life is a hostage for many, Jesus takes our place in judgment. Simeon is a type of the Law, providing only a temporary means of salvation until the younger brother, Benjamin, a type of Grace comes, and Joseph, a type of Christ, reveals himself to his brethren and their salvation is made sure. This is typical of a double prophecy, looking forward to the Resurrection and to the Great Tribulation.)

2Kings 20:8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day? (A sign is given, time goes backwards, to show Hezekiah he will recover. This miracle defies the laws of Physics and all that science believes. Time does not reverse itself. The sign of the Resurrection is an even more startling miracle, a complete reversal of all we believe about death. Jesus is flayed alive, tortured and executed on a cross, and is 100% dead but comes back from the grave.)

Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. (What could be a more clear pre-telling of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and of the Jewish people as the Millennial Reign of Christ begins on earth keeping in mind 2 Peter 3:8?)

Much of the Bible is a closed book if you don’t hold to the pre-millennialism of the early church.
