Viet Cong; The Organization and Techniques of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam by Douglas Pike. This is a very scholarly and in depth study of the organization known to us as the Viet Cong. Published at the Massachuetts Institute of Technology in 1966, it was written by Douglas Pike, a USIA foreign service officer, writing from Saigon. The book is based on 800 documents taken from the Viet Cong and interviews with 100 ex-Viet Cong. Its an important work for students of the Vietnam War.
